Who We Are

Mercury Network is a full-service communications company headquartered and founded in Midland, MI in 1996. Today, the company provides a complete line of communications products and services, including high-speed Internet access, hosting, digital phone services, and computer repair. Mercury Network’s growth can be attributed to the vision of its President, Dave Sovereen, and his commitment to providing quality products and services with exceptional customer care.

Our roots date back to 1992, when Dave had a vision of starting an electronic Bulletin Board Service (BBS) and launched Mercedes On-Line Systems to the residents of sunny South Florida. After moving to Midland, MI and establishing Mercury Network, Dave was called upon to help launch LakeShore OnLine, an Internet Service Provider in Manitowoc, WI. In the summer of 2004, Mercury Network had the opportunity to acquire the customers of LakeShore OnLine, which it did, and has maintained its presence in the two states ever since. In the spring of 2014, MercuryTel was launched within Mercury Network, and provides superior digital phone services and systems to homes and businesses alike.

Meet The Team

  • Dave President

    David founded Mercury Network in March of 1996 with the desire to deliver high-quality Internet services to the mid-Michigan area and currently serves as President and CEO. Under his vision and leadership, Mercury Network has grown from a basement project to a multi-million dollar company serving thousands of customers across Michigan and Wisconsin. David sets company direction and policy, as well as oversees the company's network engineering and operations. Prior to starting Mercury Network, David worked for Hearst Corporation, where he built and launched two Internet service providers, one of which he operated on a daily basis. In his spare time, David enjoys the outdoors, tennis, golf, and traveling.

  • Bob Manitowoc Area Supervisor

    Formerly a field technician for Mercury Network, Bob now supervises our Manitowoc operation. Having a passion for computers and technology, Bob enjoys repairing computers. If you're having a problem with your computer, bring it in so Bob can fix the issues and make your computer work the way it should. Bob enjoys being outdoors with his wife and three children by camping every weekend he can and cooking over the open fire. Bob's hobbies include computers, motorcycles, foosball and local bands.

  • Tim Bald Eagle

    Tim is a field technician in the Midland office. He has been working for Mercury since December 2006. He has a bachelor’s degree in Network Security from Davenport University. Tim installs and repairs service for customers in Michigan. When he is not out doing installs and repairs, he is answering technical support phone calls and repairing computers. Before working at Mercury, Tim worked in telecommunications for Tek Systems. In his spare time Tim and his wife, Tricia, enjoy spending time together. They like camping and Tim enjoys golfing.

  • Jason Codebreaker

    Jason joined Mercury Network in 2013. He is currently attending Davenport University, pursuing a degree in Computer Programming. A lot of what he knows has been self-taught, and he is a firm believer that sometimes breaking things is the best way to learn how to fix them. When not at work, Jason enjoys spending all the time he can with his wife and children. His hobbies included graphic design, software development, electronics, and automotive customization.

  • Nate Tech Support

    Nate joined Mercury Network in its Midland office in August 2014 starting as a Technical Support Representative. Nate is working towards an associate's degree in Computer Information Systems from Davenport University. When not at Mercury, Nate spends time with his wife Angie and two children. He likes to play golf and pool in his spare time.

  • Debbie The Bean Counter

    Debbie is our resident accountant and brings with her a wealth of experience through roles she’s had as trust officer, senior accountant and management for a variety of financial organizations and CPA firms. With a BSBA and a major in accounting, her expertise include individual, corporate, partnership and non-profit income tax returns and audits, compilations and payroll taxes, as well as, consulting and supporting computerized accounting systems. Well rounded and knowledgeable in the accounting field, it seemed a fitting title to deem her The Bean Counter at Mercury Network! When not working, Debbie enjoys spending time with her twins, her son-in-law, and grand-baby, who are the joy of her life. Her extra-curricular activities include, reading, working out, biking, traveling and golf.

  • Ralph Sales Manager

    Ralph joined Mercury Network in May 2017 as our new Sales Manager and comes to us all the way from Phoenix, Arizona! He brings with him 20+ years of sales and sales management experience along with a background in relationship selling, Fortune 500 client services and a proven ability to manage and penetrate key accounts. When he’s not in the office, you’re most likely to find him spending time with his wife and grandchildren, looking for the best bargain at auctions or yard sales, or just enjoying all the activities his new home state has to offer!

  • Ashley Tech Support

    Ashley joined Mercury Network as the first female Technical Support Representative we've had for as far back as we can remember. Ashley has over six years of experience in the customer service industry and three in telecommunications. When she is not at work, Ashley enjoys spending time with her large family outdoors. Camping, swimming, hiking, snowshoeing, and fishing are some of her favorite outdoor activities. Ashley also enjoys rugby, a good movie and trying out new craft breweries.

  • Scott Tech Support

    Scott Hubbell comes from a long line of outdoorsy types as evidenced by his manly facial hair, which requires many hours of grooming, resulting in our having to take some liberties with his biography. Prior to joining Mercury, Scott worked as a software engineer, repair technician, lead provisioner and other positions, the details of which we won't bore you with. In the winter months you can find Scott on the ski slopes rescuing those of us not as adept on skis as he is. In the summertime, he enjoys spending time with his five kids!

  • Cody Account Manager

    Cody joined Mercury Network in June 2019 as our new Account Manager and comes from sunny Phoenix Arizona! Cody has a background in customer service and sales with over 4 years experience. When he is not in the office, Cody enjoys spending time with his family, going for nature walks and playing video games!

  • Nick Tech Support

    Nick joined Mercury Network in June 2019. Nick earned his associate’s degree in Network Technology from Delta College. Prior to Mercury Network, Nick worked as a bank teller, computer operator, service desk analyst and a telecommunication specialist. In his free time, Nick spends time with his girlfriend Abby, working on cars, playing with his dog Hank, and going to heavy metal concerts.

  • Trevor Customer Service

    A father of 4 and grandfather of 2. He loves the outdoors, camping and boating. He has a love of electronics and great ability to help customers. He has a very outgoing, friendly personality. You will find Trevor at the office working with and testing the equipment and helping customers. You will also find him at the towers helping the technicians. He is a jack of all trades and can rise to any challenge.

  • Victor Field Technician

    Victor has been a field technician at the Manitowoc office since 2016. He's a certified tower rescue climber in charge of installing and maintaining all tower and customer equipment in the Wisconsin network area. Before working for Mercury, he was a Carpenter for most of his life. He enjoys spending his free time frisbee golfing, camping, gaming or just going on random adventures with his three children.

  • Davin Field Technician

    Davin is a field technician in Wisconsin. In his free time, he enjoys working on cars, spending time with family and friends, and traveling to car shows across Wisconsin. One of his biggest goals is to compete in an amateur Strongman competition.
